Steadfast Security®

GDC modems offer "hacker" protection through GDC's patented SteadFast Security®. This exclusive system delivers two levels of first line security:

1. Handshake Security - In this mode, only another modem with GDC's patented Handshake Security can connect to your PC or server equipment, providing hardware verification as the first line road block to "hackers." Also excellent for use with remote control software packages and remote LAN access applications.

2. On-line Security - In this mode, any brand modem that calls your modem will be prompted with a message to "Enter Password."

With on-line security, you can assign up to 10 passwords for:

1. PassThrough Security - When the password is accepted, the caller is connected.

2. CallBack Security - The modem verifies the password, and calls back a previously stored number.

3. Roving CallBack Security - The caller enters the password and a phone number to "callback."

High Density Modem Pool Applications The SC 5000 includes full featured V.34/V.90 data and fax digital modem emulators that support synchronous and asynchronous applications at speeds up to 33.6 kbps for either switched PSTN or analog private line networks.

Designed to address high density modem pool applications, the modem Data Set Emulator (DSE) interfaces through the system's Line Termination Unit (LTU). For example, a single T1 configuration can support 24 V.34/V.90 modems with room to spare. Multiple LTUs and DSEs can be added in a second shelf and linked together to provide even greater modem pooling densities.
