Bandwidth Manager-TMS-OCM
TMS-3000
(Transport Management System)
GDC's TMS-3000 Advanced Internetworking Platform offers superior bandwidth
management for high speed wide area networks. The Multi-nodal, Multi-aggregate
architecture of the TMS-3000 enables service providers and enterprise users to
build fully mesh, fault tolerant resilient backbone networks. Cost effective
access to smaller branch or regional offices is supported through the OCM-2000
feeder platform. TMS-3000 is ideally suited to accommodate and efficiently
transport a changing mix of applications, LAN to WAN integration, image and
video along with traditional voice and data services.
TMS-3000 allows users to accomplish virtually any networking objective
efficiently and economically.
Complete flexibility provides for ease of upgrade
to accommodate future requirements.
TMS-3000 Highlights
 |
Global digital connectivity - narrowband, wideband, fractional and hybrid
access |
 |
Branch office traffic consolidation - Voice, video, and data traffic over
economical T1/E1, Fractional T1/E1, or narrow band facilities |

OCM-1000/2000-Office
Communications Manager
The OCM-1000 and the OCM-2000 are powerful, cost-effective TDM networking
platforms. The OCM-1000 provides point-to-point and point-to-multipoint
connectivity to small and medium sized branch sites. The OCM-2000 extends the
TMS-3000 backbone network's capabilities to remote branch office locations. Both
OCM platforms offer connectivity to a variety of digital carrier services,
allowing users to select the one with the best performance/cost ratio in each
location. They use the same bandwidth optimization techniques as the TMS-3000 to
efficiently transport voice and data traffic.
OCM Highlights
- Support for a variety of digital services ensures easy implementation of
global networks
- Integration of both traditional voice and data and LAN to WAN
internetworking, video conferencing and imaging over common digital
facilities
- Multi-aggregate capability for resilient mesh networks with diverse
routing options
- Configuration and management from a single central-site platform
- Exceptionally high quality voice compression options
- Easy migration path from OCM-1000 to OCM-2000
Network Management
The TMS-4000 is a SPARC Platform based, centrally weighted Network Management
System (NMS) designed to exceed the current standards for network management and
meet the needs of both public services providers and enterprise networks.
Operating under HP Openview, the TMS-4000 offers full graphical representation
of up to 256 TMS-3000 and 10,000 OCM-2000 nodes in a single domain. The TMS-4000
"point and click" and "drag and drop" functionality makes
network configuration, maintenance and control intuitive and easy. The TMS-4000
also allows for the creation and management of Virtual Private Network (VPN)
partitioning, for the development of independent "sub-networks". The
TMS-4000 supports Common Management Interface Protocol (CMIP) for communications
to higher level management systems, and is compliant with the ITU-T
Telecommunications Managed Network (TMN) standard.
In small to medium sized TMS-3000 backbone networks, the P.C. based GDC TMS
Software (GTS) application provides network configuration, control and
management to TMS-3000 and OCM- 2000 nodes. In point-to-point and
point-to-multipoint OCM-1000 networks, the P.C. based are OCM Management System
(OMS) can be utilized. Both systems provide configuration, alarm reporting,
diagnostics and centralized system management. Simple , pop-up windows and mouse
or keyboard commands make GTS and OMS user-friendly, while providing
comprehensive functionality.
