Combining "best of breed" technologies from General DataComm and Equinox, SpectraComm RLA integrates secure, reliable and transparent access to Ethernet and Token Ring LANs from remote PC's. This innovative product addresses Remote LAN Access by integrating both WAN and Remote LAN Server architectures in a single standards-based platform. The GDC RLA is certified for use with Microsoft NT RAS, Attachmate, and Citrix servers which give remote users the ability to run applications, send or receive E-mail messages, use network printers, access host systems, and perform other tasks as if they were located in the office.

SpectraComm RLA provides an open solution that is totally independent of LAN operating systems and protocols, allowing remote access to any Ethernet or Token Ring network. This compatibility with all LAN topologies and network protocols protects your current investment in LAN hardware.

SpectraComm RLA supports V.34, V.90 and ISDN services. The SpectraComm PRI card can service multiple PRI lines and can terminate ISDN BRI calls. Remote clients can use V.90, V.34 modems or ISDN Basic Rate Adapters to call into the RLN system using the same access number.

The SpectraComm RLA provides a highly reliable, low density platform required for mission critical RAS applications where single points of failure are unacceptable. Standards features include simultaneous analog and digital V.34/V.90 and ISDN terminations, redundant power supply and TI LTU redundancy, hot swappable modules, integral DSX-1 cascade port and integral SNMP management. SpectraComm RLA is compliant with Bellcore's NEBS Level 3.
