Madge AccessSwitch ISDN Network Simulation
A high-capacity, high-performance, network access and
switching system.
The Madge AccessSwitch™ is a high-capacity, high-performance, network
access and switching system providing scalable and highly available solutions
for companies that develop, manufacture and support products for the
communications industry. Network interfaces include quad digital network
interfaces for T1, ISDN Primary Rate, E1 Primary Rate; quad high-speed
synchronous data modules that support inverse multiplexing(V.35, RS449, X.21);
octal ISDN Basic Rate interfaces (U, ST) and H.320 Multipoint Control Units for
video conferencing applications.

Features
Multiple Configuration.
The Access Switch can be configured to perform many functions for companies that
develop communications products such as modems, routers, general purpose
transmission equipment, application specific switches and PBX's. The flexibility
in the AccessSwitch hardware and AccessWare software provides the most cost
effective solution for businesses that develop, manufacture and support products
for the communications industry by:

providing simulated networks for training and demonstration. |
Full Routing and Switching Capabilities
Zero cost testing - no need to place calls from one carrier BRI/PRI to another.
The Access Switch provides dynamic call routing and port-to-port switching. The
switch provides multi-protocol, tandem switching between multiple ISDN and
robbed bit signaling protocols.
Built In Protocol
The protocol analyzer is built into the Access Switch management software which
allows users to trace and capture call activity. This powerful tool helps users
immediately monitor call setup (Q.931/Q.921), bandwidth and alarm conditions.
Comprehensive Management
The Access Switch may be configured in a centralized or distributed environment,
either locally or remotely through the AccessWare Management Console
application. The Local Management Console and Network Management Console
applications are easy to use, PC-based Microsoft Windows applications. These
applications provide a GUI based, intuitive interface to configure, reconfigure
and store multiple profiles as well as monitoring all network operations.
Scalable Architecture
The Model 200 and Model 60 are multi-slotted, chassis-based systems which can be
tailored to support varying application and test environments. The Model 200
supports a maximum of 140 network interfaces depending on type and bandwidth
requirements, while the Model 60 provides six slots for support of network
interfaces. Modules include quad digital network interfaces for T1, ISDN Primary
Rate, E1 Primary Rate; quad high-speed synchronous data modules that support
inverse multiplexing(V.35, RS449, X.21); octal ISDN Basic Rate interfaces (U,
ST) and H.320 Multipoint Control Units for video conferencing applications.
Key Benefits
Extensive Protocol Support
Highly flexible architecture that permits testing of terminal equipment to
standard protocols in an emulated switched environment including upstream
protocols as well as system clocking. This decreases development time by
allowing engineering organizations to test EuroISDN products in US, while
European Engineering organizations can test North American protocols in Europe.
To facilitate varying test environments, multiple network pro-files can be
created and stored by the management software for different test configurations.
