SYNCHRONOUS DATA INTERFACES
The Madge QRVX and DRVX
synchronous data interfaces are plug-in modules that can be
inserted in either the Madge AccessSwitch 60 (6 slot) or
AccessSwitch 200 (20 slot) chassis. The QRVX module provides
four synchronous interface ports and the DRVX module provides
two. Each module can be configured as a group of RS449 or V.35
interfaces, with RS366, RS366A, V.25 bis or X.21 dialing for
videoconferencing

Family of
Modules The Madge QRVX and DRVX synchronous interface
are single plug-in modules for the Madge AccessSwitch slotted
hubs (six- or 20-slot chassis). The QRVX and DRVX are part of
the Madge family of interface modules that provide
input/output connections between external synchronous devices
and any other modules installed in the AccessSwitch chassis.
Modules can be used in any combination to provide powerful
call switching capabilities among T1, ISDN Basic or Primary
Rate, or E1 Primary Rate trunking, and RS449/V.35 synchronous
interfaces with RS366, V.25bis, or X.21 dialing.
Industry Standard Support The QRVX module
provides four synchronous interface ports, and the DRVX module
provides two. They both can be configured as RS449, V.35, or
X.21 interfaces, with RS366, RS366A, V.25 bis or X.21 dialing.
Standard data rates supported include single B channel (56/64
kbps), H0 (384 kbps), and H10 (1,472 Mbps). The modules can
also support the H11 (1,536 Mbps) data rate using Non-Facility
Associated Signaling (NFAS). Optional inverse multiplexing (IMUX) software allows the use of multiple B channels to
support a wide range of data rates.

Easy Expansion Multiple QRVX or DRVX modules
can be supported in the same AccessSwitch base unit for
applications requiring more synchronous ports. The
AccessSwitch 200 chassis can accommodate up to 19 modules for
a maximum of 76 synchronous connections. A maximum of five
modules can be supported by the AccessSwitch 60 chassis for a
maximum of 20 synchronous connections.
