TWO WAY
VIDEO PLAYER
Affordable,
high quality two-way video player for desktops
V-Meeting™ is an inexpensive software
codec for H.323 desktop video conferencing with Click to MeetTM video
portals. It is optimized for ease-of-use and quick deployment, making
two-way video at the desktop affordable and easy.
- Video and audio quality comparable to
hardware codecs, but at a fraction of the cost.
- Simplified user interface, and smart
networking features to complement Click to Meet ease of use.
- Quick and easy installation without
opening the PC. Up and running in 10 minutes!
INTEGRATED WITH CLICK TO MEET™
V-Meeting is part of FVC.COM’s Click
to Meet video portal solution. Its simplified user interface eliminates
all the features that aren’t needed when calls and conferences are
initiated from the Click to Meet web-browser interface. So there is
nothing to learn or configure. Unlike other H.323 clients, V-Meeting
automatically supports VPNs without requiring reconfiguration and even
supports asymmetric line speeds such as ADSL - a real bonus for
telecommuters.
EASY INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT
With no need for
resource-intensive PC hardware changes, V-Meeting can be installed in a
few minutes. It’s so easy that users can do it themselves, reducing
the overall cost of deployment. Simply plug in a USB camera, load the
camera drivers, download V-Meeting software, and register as a Click to
Meet subscriber. Everything from frame rates to default gatekeeper is
configured automatically. Best of all there’s nothing to tamper with,
so users can’t inadvertently corrupt their configuration. That means
low support costs for the IT department.
END USER FEATURES
- High Quality Desktop
Videoconferencing. FVC.COM's
V-Meeting takes advantage of today's fast PC processors to bring
high quality two-way video to laptops and desktops throughout the
enterprise without needing special hardware. With video performance
comparable to that of most expensive hardware codecs, V-Meeting
supports both QCIF and CIF formats, and can encode and decode up to
30 frames per second for smooth motion.
- Superior Quality Audio
Compression. Sound quality in
a videoconference is critical. V-Meeting’s TDAC wideband audio
codec provides remarkable sound quality comparable to room systems,
while only using 32 Kbps of bandwidth. In addition it supports all
of the popular audio compression formats, including G.711, G.723.1,
and the G.722 format which is normally featured only in high-end
room systems.
- Easy to Install. Unlike
complex hardware codecs, you can install V-Meeting software and a
USB camera in 10 minutes. Any Pentium II® PC running at 233 MHz or
faster, is suitable for V-Meeting. For best performance, or with PCs
that do not support USB, a video capture board and an analog camera
may be used. Alternatively, other non-intrusive options such as
parallel port attached cameras are supported. Once installed,
V-Meeting automatically checks for new versions from the web and
upgrades itself.
- Simplified User Interface. UV-Meeting
has been optimized for ease of use by excluding call controls and
directory functions. Since these features all reside in the Click to
Meet web interface, with point-and-click access to an
enterprise-wide call directory, they are not needed in V-Meeting.
And there is no need to laboriously program the numbers of people
you want to call at each client. The resulting clutter-free
interface is completely intuitive, accelerating the learning curve.
If Click to Meet is not loaded, V-Meeting can launch a browser and
start Click to Meet.
- H.323 Standards Compliant. V-Meeting
is fully interoperable with other H.323 standards-compliant video
equipment and is compliant with the most popular audio, video, and
data-sharing standards. It has been extensively tested for H.323,
H.320 and H.321 interoperability with a broad range of
videoconferencing systems, gatekeepers, gateways, and
multiconference bridges.
- Data Collaboration.Support
for T.120 allows data collaboration with popular application sharing
tools. To ensure complete compatibility with the defacto data
collaboration tool Microsoft NetMeeting 3.0®, V-Meeting loads
NetMeeting’s data conferencing modules enabling users to chat,
send files, draw on a whiteboard, and share applications with
others.
- Asymmetric Call Rates. V-Meeting
has been designed with telecommuters in mind. It can support
asymmetric broadband connections such as ADSL and Cable. For
example, a telecommuter on a 128/384 DSL line can still enjoy the
higher call rate coming from other people in the office, without
having to bring everyone else’s call speed down to the lowest
common denominator.
- Automatic VPN Support. Telecommuters
are increasingly using broadband internet access and VPNs to get
cheap, high-speed and secure access to the corporate network. Most
H.323 codecs cannot reach their designated gatekeeper over VPNs and
will not work. V-Meeting automatically detects and overcomes VPN
contention.

Performance is a factor of both PC performance and capture rates
